Hi, my name is Donna Bonus. I am 40ish... and have just started my own business, BONUS HEARING. I have been in the hearing industry for almost 15 years.

I started out working as an Office Manager for a prominent Hearing Clinic in Sydney and did the Audiometry Course through TAFE. With excellent Audiologists as my colleagues and teachers, I have developed my skills and have carried on in a Clinical role for almost 7 years now.

Prior to starting in the hearing industry, I had always worked in health and medical. I have worked as a peer support worker with Respite Care, done Lifeline Telephone Counselling, worked in a Hospital, a Community Health Centre, the Department of Health and for a Physiotherapist.

I am very passionate about helping people to hear.

I get very frustrated that out of all our senses, hearing seems to be the sense that the majority of people care less about. I want to change that perception because sound is wonderful. I cannot imagine not being able to hear the birds early every morning as I sit on the verandah with my 15 year old German Shepherd who snores softly beside me. The day slowly comes alive; I can hear the ocean softly “rumbling” in the distance, the soft swish of the breeze, traffic in the distance reminds me I am not the only one up early preparing for the day of work ahead. These sounds are so precious to me and sooth me – they are my morning sounds!
